Private Austrian schools (Privatschulen)
These are usually less expensive than their international counterparts and they follow the Austrian curriculum. Some private Austrian schools focus on religion or alternative education, such as Waldorf or Montessori.
International schools
Currently, there are 11 private international schools in Vienna. They do not have to follow the Austrian curriculum. Each one has a curriculum in line with its own mission and values. The City of Vienna provides a comprehensive list of these schools.
